Some would admit that Charlotte Gainsbourg’s music collaboration with Beck was something that was bound to happen. What’s most spectacular though is not so much their perfectly compatible sound and aesthetics but their music video ‘Heaven Can Wait’, directed by Keith Scofield. The video combines indie nostalgia, with surreal comedy and a touch of the absurd. Family barbecues, Charlotte doing her makeup in the bathroom while a dinasaur in a wig watches her from the bathtub. American suburbia in slow motion trough a glass darkly and twisted, fits Gainsbourg like a glove: gorgeous, dramatic and always jarring.
