Erdem wins BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Award

Erdem Moralioglu and his eponymous London ready-to-wear line that carries his first name is the winner of the inaugural British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund and apart from the £200,000 he will gain access to director level mentors across the industry, who will assist him in achieving his business goals for the next twelve months with the aspiration that the network developed during this year will endure throughout his career as he makes the transition from a developing creative business into a global fashion brand.

The label’s strong design signature, fusing sharp, forward tailoring and graphic custom designed silk prints in a uniquely romantic approach, is what seperated him from the other seven designers that were shortlisted, as well as the dynamics of his brand now sold globally in more than 50 premiere department and specialty stores, such as Barney’s New York, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harvey Nichols. Note that the brand’s show during London Fashion Week solidly became one of the most popular shows to see during this event.

Ozon attended the 10th Swiss Textiles Fashion Awards in Zurich and thoroughly enjoyed the collection by finalist Erdem. Canadian Erdem Moralioglu has won the «Swarovski British Fashion Council Enterprise Award» in 2007, together with the «Fashion Fringe Award». www.erdem.co.uk

The Swiss Textile Federation will be presenting the Swiss Textiles Award for the 10th time on 12 November 2009 at the Schiffbau in Zurich. This is one of the worldʼs best endowed fashion prizes for young designers. The prize is worth 100,000 euros to the competition winner. This sum will be presented to the winner at a decisive stage in his or her career in the form of benefits in kind (e.g. press relations, show organization, production of collections).These were the fab six chosen finalists after an internal selection procedure who will be competing for the Swiss Textiles Award on the catwalk on 12 November 2009:
