The 15th Athens International Film Festival – Opening Nights welcomes its audience from 16th to 27th September, 2009 in the cinema theatres Attikon Cinemax Class, Apollon Cinemax Class and Danaos 1& 2. This year the Opening Nights Festival inaugurates new awards (Director’s, Actor’s and Actress’ First Appearance Award) and presents two long awaited Greek movies (“Strella” and “Evil 2: The Era of the Heroes”). However, these are not the only surprises of the event. Tributes to innovative film creators like Yogen Leth and Zbigniew Rybczynski and to cult cinema through 20 rare cult masterpieces guarantee exceptional cinematic nights.
